New York State is restructuring how School Building Leader (SBL) and School District Leader (SDL) certifications are earned. The streamlined, more affordable route that current programs use is being phased out in favor of a longer, costlier model. Teachers who enroll now can still complete their certification under today’s structure. Teachers who wait will be routed into whatever replaces it — and every signal points to that path taking more time and money, not less.
