We offer different courses based on your current certification
If you are not a certified teacher:
If you are looking to become a teacher, and do not have either initial or professional certification, this is your first step. Satisfy your requirements for both initial and professional certification, as well as special ed certification, with our Master’s in General and Special Ed. You can take this Master’s Program in either the Early Childhood or Childhood track, with the College of Mount Saint Vincent. These are weekend courses, in an accelerated format. Successful completion of this program and required certification exams lead to a master’s degree plus two teaching licenses in both general and special education at the early childhood level (Birth to Grade 2) or Childhood level (Grades 1 through 6). Classes are currently held online.
If you are initially certified, but not yet professionally certified:
We also offer a Master’s in TESOL. This downstate weekend Master’s program is designed for working professionals or recent college graduates who currently hold an initial New York State teaching certification. Upon successful completion of this program and the required content specialty examination in ESOL, students will have fulfilled the academic requirements for initial/professional certification in TESOL from Pre-K through grade 12, as well as their initial certification area. Classes are currently held online.
If you are professionally certified:
We offer courses that satisfy the requirements for license extensions through the Individual Pathway to Certification.
Would you like to be more marketable? Do you want to get your next salary step (like your 30 and above)? Our graduate classes will give you 3 credits in just 5 weekend days. $745 for 3 credits. Offered in all 5 boroughs and Long Island. These courses are currently held online. Click for info.
