Police Outreach in Schools

Police Outreach in Schools

The Daily News has this post about a program starting next week (Tuesday 5/17) which will see NYPD officers visiting schools in an effort to strengthen community and police relations.

The NYPD officers will read to students, and will share their experiences.

Mayor DeBlasio says “Building meaningful community relationships from an early age is critical to ensure that New Yorkers across the city are aware of the many supports available to them.”

The Chancellor says

“This is a great opportunity for our young students to hear directly from officers and learn about teamwork, leadership and inclusion,” Fariña said.
