Module 1 – Everything K-12 Educators Need to Know About Generative AI
Part of CITE’s AI Academy for Principals, Assistant Principals, and Communities, this is the first in a six-part professional development series designed to equip all faculty in your community with the knowledge, tools, and strategies to integrate AI effectively, ethically, and sustainably. This is a live, virtual session for your entire school community, scheduled during your first few days back to school.
Overview
Kick off the school year with a shared foundation in generative AI for your entire staff. Module 1 equips educators with essential knowledge, practical strategies, and clear guidelines for ethical and effective use in NYC schools. Your school staff may attend any of the scheduled live sessions during the first few days of staff’s back-to-school, or catch the replay ensuring that your whole community has the opportunity to align on this important matter.
What’s Included
- Unlimited access for all school staff — teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, after-school program staff, and other members of your school community.
- Seven live virtual sessions to choose from for Module 1 in late August and early September.
- Full-year access to the asynchronous version for anyone who can’t attend live, including new hires or staff returning from leave.
- 2 CTLE credits for each participant who completes the live or asynchronous session of module 1.

FAQs
Who can attend?
All school staff are welcome, including teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, after-school program staff, and other members of your school community.
How is Module 1 scheduled?
Module 1 is the same live virtual webinar, offered seven times to maximize flexibility (see dates above).
What if someone can’t attend live?
Anyone who misses the live session will have full-year access to the asynchronous version.
Can newly hired staff join later in the year?
Yes. Asynchronous access is available year-round for new hires or staff returning from leave.
Can we split attendance across multiple live dates?
Yes. You can have different groups attend on different dates/times in August and September to accommodate your back-to-school schedule.
How do staff register?
Your school will receive a unique registration code for staff to use when registering for either the live or asynchronous session.
